In a bid to enhance healthcare delivery, the Federal Government, in collaboration with the World Bank, has commenced the revitalization of 58 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across Nasarawa State.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to upgrade at least one PHC in each of the 147 electoral wards in the state, with the first phase targeting 58 facilities for completion by June 2025.

Speaking on the development, Dr. Usman Iskilu-Saleh, Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency, emphasized that the revitalized facilities will operate 24/7, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential medical services.

“So far, we have 58 facilities undergoing revitalization, with completion expected by June. This initiative reflects our commitment to providing quality healthcare services to residents,” he stated.

Dr. Iskilu-Saleh commended Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration for prioritizing healthcare, emphasizing that efforts are underway to extend the revitalization to all PHCs in the state by the end of 2025.

He also pledged to work closely with journalists and stakeholders to promote public awareness and community engagement in the project.

The revitalization project is expected to significantly improve healthcare accessibility, reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, and enhance overall well-being across Nasarawa State.
