Ondo State Government Pays N180 Million in Electricity Meter Subsidy

In a move to improve electricity access and affordability for residents, the Ondo State Government has disbursed a subsidy totaling ₦180 million for the provision of electricity meters across the state. This initiative, announced by the Special Adviser on Power to the Governor, Engr. (Dr.) Johnson Alabi, marks a significant step toward addressing the state’s power challenges.
Speaking during the press briefing to commemorate this year’s Workers’ Day celebration, Engr. Alabi congratulated Governor Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the workers of Ondo State for their dedication and hard work. He reaffirmed the Governor’s administration’s commitment to providing steady and affordable electricity, underscoring ongoing efforts to improve local power generation and distribution in line with legal requirements.
This subsidy is expected to alleviate the burden of high electricity costs for residents while enhancing the state’s power infrastructure.
