In a bold stride to strengthen the justice delivery system in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned 34 brand-new three-bedroom apartments and a state-of-the-art Deputy Sheriff Warehouse. This move reaffirms the administration’s unwavering commitment to judicial reforms and the welfare of judiciary personnel.

The Governor handed over 24 of the flats to Magistrates and 10 to Ministry of Justice staff during the official commissioning ceremony held at the Lagos State Magistrate’s Official Quarters in Kosofe-Ketu and the Deputy Sheriff Warehouse in Majidun, Ikorodu.

Governor Sanwo-Olu underscored that a well-supported judiciary is essential for an effective justice system. “Only in a comfortable environment can justice be administered effectively. This handover is part of our pledge that no arm of government will be left unattended,” he stated.

He noted that this initiative complements other judicial infrastructure upgrades, including newly delivered courtrooms in Tappa. The Governor also assured that more welfare packages are underway to ensure Lagos judiciary employees carry out their duties efficiently and fearlessly.

The newly inaugurated Deputy Sheriff Warehouse is designed to securely store goods seized during litigation, ensuring the preservation of assets and faster justice delivery. Sanwo-Olu emphasized its importance to the rule of law and economic growth, saying, “This will not only safeguard property but also encourage investment and public trust in the judicial process.”

Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Kazeem Alogba, lauded the project as a testament to Governor Sanwo-Olu’s enduring commitment to justice sector transformation. He stressed that the secure storage facility would protect the interests of all litigating parties and retain the value of goods under judicial custody.

Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, described the event as another significant milestone in the Governor’s effort to entrench the rule of law. He praised the serene and functional environment provided for legal processes, reinforcing public confidence in judicial decisions.

The commissioning reflects the Sanwo-Olu administration’s broader reform agenda, driven by the vision of a Lagos where justice is not just done, but delivered with dignity, safety, and transparency.
