Edo Governor’s Vision for TVET Gains Ground as EDOBTVE Chair Inspects Benin Technical College

Edo State’s unwavering push to revitalise technical and vocational education received a major boost as the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Board for Technical and Vocational Education (EDOBTVE), Hon. Dr. Maureen Ekhoragbon (JP), led a high-level team to inspect Benin Technical College. The visit aimed to assess dormant machines and infrastructure that have remained unused for over five years, hindering effective skills delivery.
Dr. Ekhoragbon used the opportunity to laud Governor Monday Okpebholo for his firm and visionary commitment to transforming Edo’s education sector through practical and skills-based training. She emphasized that the Governor’s inclusive governance approach is breathing new life into the state’s technical education landscape, ensuring that young people are equipped with employable skills and industry-relevant competencies.
Concerned about the stalled projects, Dr. Ekhoragbon directed all contractors involved in the installation and infrastructural delays to report and present immediate action plans. The inspection reflects a bold step by the Okpebholo-led government to reposition technical colleges across the state as drivers of job creation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
