Governor Ahmed Aliyu Delivers Water Revolution in Sokoto with Landmark Projects and Community Impact

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State is leading a historic turnaround in water infrastructure, restoring dignity, improving livelihoods, and fulfilling a sacred leadership obligation. Grounded in both faith and pragmatism, his administration has declared water access a top priority—transforming decades of scarcity into stories of renewal.
At the core of this transformation is the revival of the 40 Million Gallons Daily Water Project, a bold initiative spanning six sites—including Tamaje, Old Airport, Mana, and Rugga Liman. Two sites are now completed, with others nearing 70% completion, promising to deliver clean water to millions.
But Governor Aliyu’s approach goes beyond large-scale infrastructure. Through the Borehole Renovation Project, 19 long-neglected water sources are being rehabilitated across Sokoto North, Sokoto South, Kware, and Dange/Shuni LGAs. With solar-powered pumps and modern filtration systems, these boreholes will serve communities sustainably.
This water revolution is touching lives, reviving hope, and reaffirming trust in governance. Governor Aliyu’s leadership has turned promises into reality, making water—not just a resource—but a testament to responsible and responsive governance in Sokoto State.
