Lagos and GIZ SKYE Empower 530 Youths with Job-Readiness and Tech Skills

The Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, in collaboration with GIZ SKYE, has launched an ambitious training programme to equip 530 unemployed and tech-savvy youths with critical job-readiness and digital skills. The initiative was unveiled at the Eko Job Centre in Owutu, Ikorodu, during the kickoff of the Industry Insider Series.
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, ESV Olayinka Adebayo Wasiu, emphasized the programme’s focus on improving employability through training in CV writing, communication, digital tools, and professional development. He affirmed the programme’s goal of building a confident, workplace-ready youth population.
Commissioner Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe reiterated that youth empowerment and social inclusion are core pillars of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda. With five Job Centres established across Lagos’ divisions, the programme reflects the state’s strategic focus on partnerships, innovation, and sustainable job creation. Participants are encouraged to seize the opportunity and contribute meaningfully to the future of Lagos and Nigeria.
