Governor Umaru Bago Honoured with NIA Fellowship for Visionary Leadership and Service to Humanity

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has been conferred with an Honorary Fellowship by the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) in recognition of his exceptional contributions to infrastructure development and public service. The investiture took place during the Institute’s Gala and Awards Night in Abuja.

Describing the honour as a motivation to deepen his commitment to humanity, Governor Bago expressed gratitude to the NIA for acknowledging his administration’s focus on sustainable development. He pledged to uphold the integrity of the award through continued service and support for innovation in the built environment.

The NIA President, Arc. Mobolaji Adeniyi, highlighted that Governor Bago, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Abbas Tajudeen were carefully selected for their support to the profession and their broader national impact. The event also featured the presentation of an Excellence Award to Governor Bago by the National Association of Architecture Students, celebrating his inspirational leadership and support for youth. Members of the Niger State Executive Council and other dignitaries were in attendance.
