Afenifere Endorses Governor Oyebanji for Second Term, Citing Development Excellence
The Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG), a leading Yoruba socio-cultural and political organization, has officially endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State for a second term, commending his remarkable implementation of the South West Development roadmap.
Speaking at a press briefing in Ado-Ekiti following the group’s statutory meeting, Ekiti State Coordinator of ARG, Elder Olubunmi Awotiku, emphasized that the endorsement was based on the governor’s adherence to the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) rather than partisan considerations.
Awotiku highlighted Governor Oyebanji’s transformative impact across various sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, social welfare, and human capital development. He described the governor as a “thorough Omoluabi” whose leadership reflects the values and aspirations of the Yoruba people.
As one of the founders of ARG, Oyebanji has remained true to the group’s principles, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to Ekiti’s development. Awotiku further noted that the governor’s policies and programs align perfectly with the DAWN roadmap, a strategic document outlining the region’s collective growth priorities.
“Our endorsement is evidence-based. We have a structured development framework, and Governor Oyebanji has consistently ticked all the right boxes. His investments in healthcare, infrastructure, and governance reforms stand as a testament to his dedication,” Awotiku stated.
He called on Ekiti people to continue supporting the administration, acknowledging that Oyebanji’s leadership has positioned the state on a trajectory of sustainable growth and prosperity.
