Africa’s First Equestrian City Comes to Katsina Through Radda’s Strategic Leadership

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has secured the approval of a historic multi-billion naira project—Africa’s first Equestrian City—following successful engagements with the National Sports Commission and the Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy. This transformative project will celebrate Katsina’s cultural heritage while stimulating massive job creation and tourism growth.
The proposed Equestrian City will host premier facilities including horse racing tracks, the National Grand Durbar arena, an Equestrian Academy, and West Africa’s first International Mounted Games Headquarters. Designed with Arewa culture in mind, the city will also include modern villas and duplexes for cultural exhibitions.
Governor Radda’s foresight and passion for heritage preservation and economic diversification have once again placed Katsina on the map of innovation and excellence. According to Dr. Kabir Ali Masanawa, the project will not only uplift the state’s economy but position it as a global hub for equestrian sports and cultural diplomacy.
