Benue State Governor Demands Release of Abducted Local Government Chairman
Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, called for the release of Ukum Local Government Area Caretaker Chairman, Rev. Gideon Haanongon, and three others who were abducted. The governor made the plea during the burial of the paramount ruler of Katsina Ala. He expressed readiness to engage with kidnappers and other criminal elements if they refrain from criminal activities. The government is urging prominent figures in the region to convene an emergency meeting to address the insecurity situation. Governor Alia emphasized the government’s commitment to finding lasting solutions and called for the immediate release of the abducted individuals.
