The program will provide ₦50,000 each to 5,000 women petty traders affected by recent floods, totaling ₦250 million in grants. This initiative, championed by Her Excellency Dr. Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum, First Lady of Borno State, is aimed at helping women regain economic independence and contribute to rebuilding their communities.
Dr. Falmata Zulum, in her remarks at the launch, expressed deep gratitude to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady and National Coordinator of RHI, for her steadfast support. Dr. Zulum highlighted that the program is a testament to the government’s dedication to restoring dignity and self-reliance among the beneficiaries. She detailed the transformative journey this program promises for the women traders, further solidified by the unwavering support of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, whose leadership has been instrumental in creating sustainable development opportunities in the state.
