Delta First Lady Commissions Ultra-Modern Market to Boost Local Economy

In a milestone for grassroots economic development, the First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has commissioned the Issele-Uku Modern Market in Aniocha North Local Government Area. The facility offers an upgraded, dignified trading environment and is expected to significantly enhance commercial activities across the region.
The market features over 700 combined lock-up and open stalls, an abattoir, mini bank, grinding section, toilets, warehouse, and administrative buildings. Completed in just six months, the project is a flagship accomplishment of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which prioritizes infrastructural development and economic empowerment.
Deaconess Oborevwori described the market as “a sign of progress” and encouraged users to preserve the facility. She reaffirmed the Oborevwori administration’s commitment to building modern infrastructure that supports livelihoods and strengthens rural-urban economic integration across Delta State.
