Edo SSG Calls for Prayers and Support for Governor Okpebholo’s Development Agenda

The Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor (Esq.), has urged Edo residents to offer prayers and unwavering support for Governor Monday Okpebholo, as his administration works towards delivering impactful governance.
Ikhilor made the appeal during a special Friday prayer session at Igun Central Mosque in Benin City, organized to commemorate the governor’s first 100 days in office.
“Governor Okpebholo is deeply committed to transforming the lives of Edo residents. However, we need the collective prayers and support of the people to successfully implement his vision for the state,” the SSG stated.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ganiyu Audu, Chief of Staff to the State Government, described Governor Okpebholo’s emergence as a divine intervention, aimed at rescuing Edo State from years of governance challenges.
“Okpebholo’s leadership is a divine intervention from God to save Edo people from the hardships of the past eight years,” Audu noted.
He highlighted the administration’s comprehensive SHINE agenda, which focuses on Security, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Natural resources, Education, and Human capital development, emphasizing that significant progress has already been recorded in these sectors.
The prayer session was attended by influential religious and community leaders, including:
• Imaams from various Muslim communities,
• Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh,
• Chairman of the Edo State Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Abdulazeez Igbinidu,
• Managing Director of Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), Suleman Aledeh, among others.
The event served as a platform for religious and community leaders to reaffirm their support for Governor Okpebholo’s administration, while praying for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance in his leadership.
