Edo State Government Clears Air on Local Government Salaries, Ensures Stability Amid Legal Challenges

The Edo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo, has clarified the situation regarding the rumors of unpaid local government salaries. Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, in a statement, dismissed these rumors as false and mischievous. Itua emphasized that the state has maintained regular payment schedules despite facing allocation setbacks due to a legal crisis with local government chairmen.
Reiterating the state’s commitment, Itua highlighted the administration’s record of success, particularly noting that no local government worker has faced undue hardship regarding salary payments since Governor Okpebholo took office. The consistent efforts of the Edo State Government underscore the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare and economic stability in the region.
