Ekiti Doctors and Health Workers Suspend Strike
Medical doctors and health workers at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, have decided to end the strike initiated on Monday, January 15. The strike was in response to an alleged assault on medical and health personnel at the facility by suspected hoodlums. The attackers accused them of negligence, which they believed contributed to the death of one of the assailants’ fathers. The Chief Medical Director announced that at least twenty people allegedly involved in the attack have been arrested by the police. The unions have agreed to suspend the strike, emphasizing the importance of a safe and conducive environment for workers.
