Ekiti IMPACT Project to Distribute Over 70,000 Long-Lasting Insecticide Nets to Pregnant Women and Children

The Ekiti State government has launched plans to ensure the efficient distribution and use of treated nets provided under the World Bank-assisted IMPACT project. At a sub-committee planning meeting in Ado, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Human Services, Mrs. Olusola Gbenga-Igotun, highlighted that this initiative is a key part of the state’s efforts to protect pregnant women and children from malaria.
With over 70,000 long-lasting insecticide-treated nets to be distributed, the project aims to offer sustainable protection against malaria, which remains a significant health concern in the region. Mrs. Gbenga-Igotun emphasized the importance of the project in safeguarding the most vulnerable populations, particularly pregnant women and children, from the deadly disease.
The Ekiti State government’s proactive measures under the IMPACT project are set to contribute to reducing the prevalence of malaria and improving public health outcomes across the state.
