Gateway Games: Lagos DG Fatodu Inspires Team Ahead of National Sports Festival
With the 22nd National Sports Festival, “Gateway Games,” on the horizon, Lagos State has reaffirmed its full commitment to supporting its athletes for national glory. Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Mr. Lekan Fatodu, visited the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre at Rowe Park to boost morale as Team Lagos entered the final stage of preparations.
Commending the athletes for their dedication, Fatodu assured them of unwavering support from the state government. “Lagos recognizes your hard work and sacrifices. You deserve excellence, and we are working to ensure you are well-equipped to achieve it,” he stated. He also announced the introduction of instant awards for outstanding performances during the games to foster motivation and celebrate excellence in real time.
Team Lagos Captain, Olowolayemo Adewale Sikiru, expressed gratitude to the Commission, noting the swift support provided by the DG. He pledged that Lagos athletes are committed to representing the state with honor and excellence. With its athletes primed and infrastructure in place, Lagos is ready to demonstrate its renowned sportsmanship and dominance across multiple disciplines at the upcoming national festival.
