The Gombe State Government, under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has reaffirmed its dedication to boosting the livestock sector through the distribution of 800 kilograms of fodder seeds and shrubs to farmers across the state. This initiative is part of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), which aims to improve the quality and nutritional content of livestock feed, ultimately enhancing beef and dairy production.

Governor Yahaya’s forward-thinking approach to agriculture, especially in livestock, aligns with the state’s long-term economic growth strategy. By embracing the National Livestock Transformation Plan and other agricultural initiatives under the Gombe State Development Plan 2021-2030, the state is poised to achieve self-sufficiency, create wealth, and generate employment opportunities. The support of verified livestock farmers and the provision of advanced tools like crop residue crushers ensure that farmers can turn waste into wealth, improving both productivity and sustainability.

This initiative not only enhances food security but also underscores the governor’s commitment to modernizing Gombe’s livestock industry, positioning the state as a key player in the nation’s agricultural sector.
