In recognition of their immense contribution to the state’s development, the Governor announced an increase in the minimum wage to ₦75,000, affirming, “You deserve more, because you matter.” He also highlighted various steps taken by his administration to improve workers’ welfare, including the regularization of thousands of workers, the hiring of hundreds more, the clearance of arrears, and the provision of health coverage for retirees.

“This is not politics. This is practical governance. It’s the New Edo we’re building together,” Governor Okpebholo stated, stressing that the rising Edo is powered by the dedication of its workers.

He concluded by expressing his unwavering commitment to continue working alongside the people, saying, “A New Edo has risen — because you show up every day. And as your Governor, so will I. Happy Workers’ Day!”
