Governor Abdulrazaq Champions Economic Growth through Industry and Infrastructure Development

The Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has reaffirmed its commitment to driving economic growth by enhancing industrial and infrastructural development in the state. The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, made this pledge during the opening ceremony of a two-day “Business to Business Summit and Fair” organized in collaboration with the National Steering Committee on Leather and Leather Products Policy Implementation Plan.

Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized the administration’s focus on upgrading industries and infrastructure to position Kwara State as a game-changer in the national economy. He highlighted significant achievements, including the completion of the Kwara Garment Factory, Sugar Factory, Visual Arts Centre, and Film Studios. He also mentioned ongoing projects such as the Kwara Hotel, ICT Hub, and Industrial Park at Eyenkorin, and the Shea Butter Factory at Kaiama, which are nearing completion.

The Governor expressed pride in hosting the BON Awards, to be organized by the Nigerian Nollywood Industry at the state’s Sugar Factory and Film Studio in September 2024. He also commended the efforts of the National Steering Committee on Leather Products Policy and its impact on job creation, human capital development, and the local economy.

The event also witnessed appreciations from federal ministers, highlighting the rapid progress in the leather sector, and the state’s collaboration in boosting economic activities. Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration has been lauded for its efforts in creating an enabling environment for business growth, fostering innovation, and supporting local industries, particularly the leather sector, which holds immense potential for economic transformation.
