Governor AbdulRazaq Lauded as Pacesetter in UBEC Project Implementation

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has been hailed by the Federal Government as a model leader in the transparent and compliant execution of Universal Basic Education Board (UBEC) projects. The commendation came from the UBEC North Central Zonal Director, Elder Edward Abalaka, during the bid opening ceremony for 2024 UBEC/SUBEB projects in Ilorin.
Over 258 contractors submitted bids for projects spanning school construction, classroom remodeling, VIP toilets, solar-powered boreholes, and educational furniture. Governor AbdulRazaq’s consistent counterpart funding and transparent procurement practices were praised as exemplary. The Chairman of Kwara SUBEB, Prof. Sheu Adaramaja, reaffirmed the state’s readiness for further interventions, adding that the third and fourth quarter bids would soon follow.
The governor’s support for the education sector was further highlighted through planned initiatives under the Safe School Programme, procurement of school buses, ECCDE furniture, and infrastructural upgrades across five LGAs. Stakeholders, including the Kwara House of Assembly and UBEC representatives, described the process as credible and inclusive.
