Governor Ahmad Aliyu Champions Islamic Education and Unity Initiatives in Sokoto

Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to promoting Islamic education and unity across the state, highlighting recent initiatives to support religious leaders and educational institutions. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Sheikh Usman Bin Fodio week, Governor Aliyu emphasized the importance of social justice and unity as pillars for development.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, Governor Aliyu noted, “Our administration has reintroduced allowances for Chief Imams and invested in renovating major mosques and Islamic schools to enhance spiritual and social cohesion.” His administration’s initiatives resonate with the teachings of the Sokoto Jihad leaders, fostering unity and knowledge across the state.
Prominent Islamic scholar Prof. Isa Aliyu Pantami echoed the governor’s sentiments, stressing the need for unity as a solution to societal challenges. The event, organized by the Sultanate Council, showcased Sokoto’s commitment to preserving its rich cultural and religious heritage under Governor Aliyu’s progressive leadership.
