Governor Aiyedatiwa Inaugurated, Unveils Vision For A New Era In Ondo State

The 7th democratically elected Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has officially assumed office, pledging to drive economic growth, security, and infrastructural development under a new policy thrust, O’DATIWA O’ DIRORUN.

Speaking at his inauguration ceremony at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, the Governor expressed gratitude to the people of Ondo State for their overwhelming support, noting that his election was a testament to the collective will of the people.

“This moment is a defining one in our history. It reminds us of the struggles of our past, the sacrifices of our heroes, and the resilience of our people. We will work tirelessly to ensure that Ondo State achieves sustainable growth, prosperity, and inclusiveness for all,” he said.

The Governor paid tribute to his late predecessor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, for his visionary leadership, vowing to build on the foundations he laid in governance, infrastructure, and economic reforms.

A Bold Vision for Ondo State: O’DATIWA O’ DIRORUN

Governor Aiyedatiwa outlined his 7-point development agenda, which will serve as the blueprint for his administration:

1. Order, Security, and the Rule of Law – Strengthening security agencies, enhancing intelligence gathering, and promoting community policing.

2. Urban and Rural Development through Agriculture and Blue Economy – Expanding agricultural productivity, supporting rural development, and harnessing marine resources for economic growth.

3. Revolutionary Technological Advancement and Industrialization – Investing in innovation, special economic zones, and digital economy initiatives.

4. Efficient Healthcare and Socio-Economic Welfare – Upgrading healthcare infrastructure and expanding the Ondo State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme (ORANGHIS).

5. Adequate Power and Affordable Energy – Prioritizing renewable energy projects and completing the Omotosho Independent Power Plant.

6. Sustainable Infrastructure and Tourism – Transforming Ondo State into a leading tourist and investment destination.

7. Education, Human Capital Development, and Entrepreneurship – Enhancing technical education, vocational training, and youth employment programs.

The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, good governance, and ensuring inclusive development for all Ondo State residents, irrespective of political affiliation, ethnicity, or background.

“We will work with all stakeholders, including the opposition, to drive the development of our beloved Sunshine State. This is a collective responsibility, and together, we will make Ondo State great again,” he assured.

The event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and political leaders, signaling strong support for the new administration.
