Governor Aiyedatiwa Revives Abandoned Banquet Complex in Bold Urban Renewal Drive

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to urban renewal with the revival of long-abandoned infrastructure projects across the state. A notable project among them is the Modern Banquet Complex at Alagbaka, Akure—abandoned since 2007 and now set for completion under the current administration.
Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Engr. Abiola Olawoye, led an inspection of the complex, emphasizing that the project’s location and strategic value make its completion imperative. He stated that the Governor is committed to eliminating wasteful neglect of public assets and transforming them into productive facilities that will serve the people of Ondo.
With structural integrity tests already scheduled and the site being cleared, the government is reviewing the initial contract to determine the best adaptive use for the completed facility. This marks another step in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s bold strategy to regenerate Akure and reinforce Ondo State’s infrastructure-driven growth agenda.
