Governor Aliyu Calls for Stronger Collaboration Among Security Chiefs in Sokoto

The Sokoto State Government has urged the newly posted Commissioner of Police (CP) and Director of the State Security Service (DSS) to work in synergy with other security agencies and stakeholders in the fight against criminal activities across the state.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu made this call while hosting the newly appointed security chiefs at the Government House Chambers in Sokoto, emphasizing the importance of intelligence gathering and a proactive approach to security.
He encouraged them to work closely with the state-owned Community Guard Corps and engage local communities to enhance security operations.
“Security is paramount to the development of any society, and my administration remains committed to supporting all security agencies in their efforts to maintain peace and stability,” Governor Aliyu stated.
He highlighted progress made in addressing security challenges, particularly in the 13 local government areas previously affected by banditry. He credited the improved security landscape to collaborative efforts between the state government and security agencies.
In his remarks, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Musa, expressed appreciation for the Governor’s support, noting that the police command has implemented strategic measures to combat crime, resulting in a significant decline in criminal activities across Sokoto.
CP Musa also commended the Governor for renovating the state police headquarters and repairing a combat vehicle, further strengthening the capacity of law enforcement.
Similarly, the newly posted Director of the State Security Service (DSS), Muhammad Sa’idu Hassan, assured the Governor of his agency’s unwavering commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the state.
He praised the Governor’s proactive security interventions, reaffirming that collaboration among security agencies remains crucial in overcoming the state’s security challenges.
The meeting reinforced the Sokoto State Government’s dedication to security enhancement, with all stakeholders pledging to work collectively in safeguarding lives and property across the state.
