Governor Aliyu Promises Probe into Unremitted Loan Deductions in Sokoto
Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has pledged to investigate unremitted loan deductions affecting civil servants in the state. The Governor made the assurance in response to an appeal by the state Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Abdullahi Aliyu, during a recent public address.
According to the NLC Chair, the previous administration failed to remit deductions from workers’ salaries to banks, leaving many employees in financial distress. “We know you as a principled leader,” he said. “Please apply your popular slogan, in kudi kudi, in aiki aiki, to recover these diverted funds.”
Governor Aliyu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to justice and transparency. “We will not condone any abuse of public trust. This administration is for the people—especially the vulnerable—and we will correct all wrongs done in the past,” he declared. He also urged continued support from the public and thanked citizens for their prayers, assuring that his government remains focused on delivering true democratic dividends.
