Governor Bago Receives Spectacular Leadership Award
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State was honored with the Spectacular Leadership Award by the 1985 set of Marafa Primary School in Minna. The award ceremony, held at the Justice Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, was part of a reunion luncheon for the school’s class of 1985. This event marked the first reunion in over 38 years and aimed to restore the school’s lost glory, particularly in terms of infrastructure.
Alhaji Umaru Musa Zago, Chairman of the Marafa Primary School Old Students Association, praised the head teacher and staff for their role in shaping the students’ futures, highlighting the inclusive and supportive educational environment they provided. The reunion celebrated the achievements of the alumni, including Governor Bago and four other distinguished members: the state chairman of the Nigeria Institute of Architects, Arch Aliyu Yerima, Engr. Gimba Yisa, Abdul Wasiu Amusa, and Hajiya Fatima Kolo.
Governor Bago expressed his gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the New Niger agenda. The event underscored the long-lasting impact of quality education and the importance of maintaining strong alumni networks.
