In just one year, Governor Bassey Otu, dubbed “The New Mr. Project of Nigeria,” alongside the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, has set a new standard for infrastructure development in Cross River State.

The administration has spearheaded extensive road construction and rehabilitation projects across the state, including notable renovations of Nyong Edem Street, Efio-Ette Roundabout, Adiabo-Ikoneto Road in Ikom LGA, Sweet Mother Road, Etome Road, and 6–7 roads in Ugep and Ogoja LGAs. Additionally, the construction of Akriya Road and Bridge in Yale LGA has improved connectivity in rural areas.

Urban renewal efforts include the renovation of all roundabouts in the state, such as the Eleven-Eleven Roundabout, now boasting a Bible-inspired design. Public buildings, including the Governor’s Office, Deputy Governor’s Lodge, and State Library, have also undergone significant upgrades.

A groundbreaking pilot concrete road project along Nyong Edem Street in Calabar South showcases the administration’s adoption of durable technology borrowed from Ebonyi State, with plans to replicate it statewide.

Governor Otu’s administration has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to infrastructure renewal, economic growth, and enhanced quality of life for Cross Riverians, setting a transformative agenda for the state.
