Stakeholders in Yobe State have lauded Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration for its transformational infrastructure projects, including the newly signed contract for the construction of a flyover bridge and underpass in Damaturu.

Former Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Usman Barau Sugum, described the project as a significant milestone, highlighting its potential to modernize the state capital and enhance urban mobility.

“Damaturu, as a growing metropolis, requires massive infrastructure investments to compete with its peers. The construction of the Damaturu International Cargo Airport is another testament to Governor Buni’s commitment to economic expansion,” Sugum said.

He further emphasized the need for completing ongoing road, drainage, and market projects, ensuring that government investments translate into tangible benefits for citizens.

“As Yobe prepares for the 2027 elections, the state is at a critical juncture, with Governor Buni laying the foundation for long-term growth,” Sugum noted, adding that the administration’s focus on healthcare, road networks, and economic diversification will position Yobe for sustained progress.

The ex-Speaker commended Governor Buni’s leadership, stating that the upcoming election will be pivotal in determining the continuity of these transformational policies.

“Yobe deserves a leader who understands hands-on governance, infrastructure planning, and economic sustainability. The state is now in a position to compete favorably with its peers, and continuity in governance will be essential for realizing its full potential,” Sugum concluded.
