Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s Roadmap: Linking Communities, Unlocking Trade, and Building Gombe’s Industrial Might

0

From rugged hinterlands to urban centers, Gombe State is transforming into a vibrant industrial and economic hub under the visionary leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya. Since taking office in 2019, the Governor has championed a deliberate infrastructure agenda—most notably the Network 11-100 project, aimed at delivering 100km of quality roads in each of the state’s 11 LGAs.

Key roads like the Kembu–Kidda–Panda–Garin Alhaji (25km), Kwanan Daniya–Daban Fulani–Bajoga Magaba (18km), and Dukku–Zaune (31km) now connect rural economies to Gombe’s industrial pipeline, paving the way for trade, movement, and opportunity. In partnership with the World Bank’s RAAMP initiative, the state has committed N3 billion in counterpart funding to further enhance rural accessibility.

At the heart of this vision is the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, a 1,000-hectare free trade zone near Dadinkowa. With N5.5 billion recently approved for final infrastructure work—including roads, power, and water—the park has already attracted nine companies and promises to become Northern Nigeria’s top industrial engine. Beyond factories, the impact is visible among local artisans, vendors, drivers, and small businesses who are seizing the opportunities unlocked by infrastructure. Governor Yahaya’s strategic compensation for displaced communities and proactive erosion control efforts show a governance style that is both inclusive and compassionate. With peace, political will, and purpose, Gombe is fast becoming the industrial heartbeat of the North-East.
