Governor Malam Umar Namadi has reaffirmed his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption, urging collective efforts to foster a more transparent and accountable governance system in Jigawa State.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of a three-day sensitization workshop, organized by the Jigawa State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (JSPCACC) at the Manpower Development Institute, Dutse, Governor Namadi emphasized that corruption erodes public trust and hinders development.

“Corruption weakens institutions, sustains inequality, and impedes socioeconomic progress. Our vision for a just and equitable society is only achievable when we commit to combating corruption at all levels,” he stated.

Since its inauguration in 2024, the JSPCACC has made remarkable progress, including:

• Recovery of over N300 million in public funds

• Resolution of nearly half of 200 complaints received

• Ongoing prosecution of 16 corruption-related cases

Governor Namadi lauded the commission’s achievements, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening accountability and transparency in governance.

“Integrity, fairness, and justice must be our guiding principles. Every government official has a sacred duty to uphold these values for the benefit of the people,” he added.

In his remarks, Barrister Salisu Abdu, Executive Chairman of JSPCACC, described the workshop as a critical step toward strengthening public sector integrity.

“Transparency, accountability, and integrity are the bedrock of good governance. Collaboration between government agencies and anti-corruption bodies is crucial in this fight,” he emphasized.

The workshop brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Judiciary, ICPC, EFCC, and PCC, with discussions focused on best practices, financial transparency, and mechanisms to prevent mismanagement.

Governor Namadi’s administration continues to prioritize ethical leadership, ensuring that Jigawa State remains a model of good governance and public accountability.
