Governor Namadi Strengthens Partnership with World Bank’s Nigeria for Women Project
Governor Mallam Umar Namadi has reinforced Jigawa State’s commitment to women’s empowerment by welcoming Mr. Michael Ilesanmi, Task Team Leader of the World Bank’s Nigeria for Women Project (NFWP), to the Jigawa State Government House in Abuja.
During the meeting, both parties explored opportunities for collaboration in implementing the NFWP across the state. The initiative, spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, is designed to improve livelihoods for women in targeted communities across Nigeria.
Governor Namadi highlighted Jigawa’s ongoing efforts to support women’s economic empowerment and pledged his administration’s full support for the project’s objectives. He emphasized that women’s financial inclusion and access to resources are key drivers of sustainable development in the state.
The visit marked a significant step toward fostering stronger cooperation between Jigawa State and the World Bank in advancing women-focused development initiatives.
