Governor Namadi’s Free Education Policy Empowers Thousands of Jigawa Girls

Governor Umar Namadi’s bold commitment to free education continues to transform the lives of girls across Jigawa State. At a recent event in Jahun, 30,000 free school uniforms were distributed to senior secondary school girls, a gesture that inspired emotional tributes from students who lauded the Governor for investing in their dreams and dignity.
The Governor’s all-encompassing education policy—spanning from primary to tertiary education—has already sent hundreds of girls to study medicine and health-related fields in Cyprus and India, with more enrolled in the Girls for Health (G4H) program and other technical training institutions. His administration has also invested heavily in sports and infrastructure to ensure holistic development of female students.
Partnering with organizations like Zenith Bank and leveraging private sector interventions, Governor Namadi’s vision is creating a pathway for girls to thrive academically and morally. With 26% of the 2025 budget allocated to education, Jigawa’s future is clearly being built on the foundation of girl-child empowerment and sustainable development.
