Governor Ododo Backs Kogi Athletes, Urges Medal-Winning Spirit at National Sports Festival
The Kogi State Government has expressed strong support for its athletes as they head to Abeokuta, Ogun State, for the National Sports Festival, with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo calling for a winning performance that reflects the state’s excellence and resilience.
Speaking during the team’s departure in Lokoja, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Monday Anyebe, encouraged the athletes to exhibit discipline, dedication, and determination. He assured them of the government’s full backing and emphasized the importance of upholding the values of sportsmanship and unity.
Director of Administration, Mallam Yahaya Ibraheem, and Sports Council Chairman, Abdulmalik Isah, both rallied the team to aim for gold. Athlete representative Celestina Uloko expressed appreciation to the Governor and Commissioner for their commitment to welfare and morale. She pledged that the team would give its best to make the state proud.
