In another milestone for infrastructure and public health, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has donated a multimillion-naira drilling machine to the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), reinforcing his commitment to delivering clean, potable water to rural communities across Kogi State.
Speaking during the commissioning event held in Lokoja, the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Comfort Nwuchola Egwuaba—who represented the Governor—highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative. She noted that the donation is part of Governor Ododo’s broader effort to eliminate water scarcity and improve living conditions in underserved areas.
The Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya Farouk, lauded the governor’s strides since assuming office, especially in restoring steady water supply through sustainable planning. RUWASSA General Manager, Hon. Ahovi Salami Ibrahim, expressed deep appreciation, pledging that the agency would ensure equitable water distribution across all senatorial districts. This intervention, he affirmed, would drastically improve public health and rural livelihoods in the state.
