Governor Ododo Pays Tribute to Late Olori Marie Ige Owoniyi: Honoring Her Legacy of Service and Compassion

Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s heartfelt presence at the funeral of the late Olori Marie Ige Owoniyi, FCA, wife of the Obaro of Kabba, was a testament to the deep respect and admiration he holds for her and her legacy. Attending the funeral service at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew, Odolu Kabba, in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, Governor Ododo was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, accompanied by several key figures from the state’s leadership, including Hon. Shehu Seidu Amodu, Hon. Acharu Okpanachi, and others.

Governor Ododo spoke profoundly about the vacuum left by the passing of Olori Marie Ige Owoniyi, describing her as a woman whose life epitomized kindness and selfless service to humanity. He emphasized that her exemplary life would continue to serve as a beacon of inspiration for both the Okun Kingdom and the entire state of Kogi. His remarks encouraged leaders to strive for excellence and unwavering service, echoing Olori Owoniyi’s dedication to the welfare of others.

The Governor expressed his deepest condolences to the Obaro of Kabba, the Okun Traditional Council, the grieving family, and the Christian community. He prayed for the eternal repose of Olori Owoniyi’s soul and called on the citizens of the Okun Kingdom to honor her memory by embracing her values of compassion and service. The late Olori passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to impact Kogi State for years to come.
