Governor Okpebholo Eases Traffic Woes, Begins Major Road Rehabilitation in Edo

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has launched urgent remedial works on the Old Sapele Road and adjoining areas to ease traffic congestion in Benin City. The governor’s action signals a strong commitment to responsive governance and practical infrastructure delivery that directly impacts the lives of citizens.
During an inspection of ongoing projects across key traffic hotspots—including Evbukhu, Ogheghe, Catholic Charismatic Way, and Ugbiyoko—Governor Okpebholo praised the pace of work and reassured residents of the judicious use of federal allocations. “We are utilizing the FAAC disbursement to build Edo, grow the economy, and improve the well-being of our people,” he stated.
The governor emphasized the economic and logistical benefits of the roadworks, which will divert heavy vehicular movement away from congested areas and open alternative routes for commuters. He also called on citizens to unite for the development of the state, stating, “Edo belongs to all of us. No one will build our state if we do not take responsibility.”
