Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State has unveiled the 2025 Carnival Calabar theme, “Traces of Time,” signaling a renewed vision for Africa’s biggest street party. The announcement, made at the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Carnival Calabar held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, reaffirms the administration’s commitment to tourism, creativity, and economic empowerment.
Governor Otu, flanked by former governors Donald Duke and Liyel Imoke, described the carnival as a vibrant celebration of the state’s soul, cultural heritage, and economic resilience. “Carnival Calabar is not just a parade of colors; it is a living testament to our people’s dreams, talent, and enterprising spirit,” he declared.
