Governor Otu Urges Federal Lawmakers to Boost Nigeria’s Economy Through Legislation
Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has urged Federal lawmakers to pass legislation that would foster economic growth and create an enabling environment for businesses in Nigeria. The call was made through his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, during a joint audience with members of the House of Representatives Committee on Industry and the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) at the Government House in Calabar.
Odey emphasized that Cross River State is endowed with abundant natural resources and provides one of the safest environments for investors. He also outlined the administration’s ongoing efforts to improve the socio-economic conditions of citizens and support the growth of businesses in the state. The visit marked a step toward advancing discussions on the siting of a sugar processing industry in Ogoja and establishing an export terminal to boost the region’s industrial and economic development.
