Governor Oyebanji Seeks Reinforcement of Ekiti’s Security Architecture, Calls for More Police Presence

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has called on the Nigeria Police Force to deploy more personnel to the state, particularly to border communities vulnerable to criminal infiltration. He made this appeal while receiving the new Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 17, AIG Ajani Musbau Omolabi, at his office in Ado-Ekiti.
While affirming Ekiti’s reputation as one of the safest states in Nigeria, the Governor expressed concern over inadequate security coverage in rural areas. He urged the AIG not to deplete the current strength of the police in the state, stressing the importance of adequate presence to safeguard citizens and support ongoing development.
Governor Oyebanji praised the professionalism of the state’s police command and reiterated his administration’s readiness to invest in infrastructure, logistics, and partnerships to strengthen security. “The peace we enjoy has supported our investment drive and reduced crime rates significantly. But more can be done. We remain committed to ensuring Ekiti remains a beacon of safety in Nigeria,” he stated.
AIG Ajani Musbau thanked the Governor for his consistent support, promising to consolidate the existing gains and work closely with the state government to maintain public order. He applauded the enabling environment created by the Oyebanji administration and pledged the Police’s continued dedication to ensuring the safety of Ekiti residents.
