Governor Oyebanji’s Vision Elevates Ekiti Youth in National Sports Arena

Ekiti State is making history on the basketball court, thanks to the unwavering support and investment of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in youth development and sports. The Ekiti Secondary School Boys Basketball Team recently defeated Borno State 50–33 in the semifinals of the AGILE Games, joining their female counterparts in securing spots in the finals. This dual qualification marks a historic achievement for the state in the maiden edition of the tournament.
Governor Oyebanji’s holistic approach to education—nurturing talent beyond the classroom—continues to bear fruit. His administration’s policies have opened platforms for young people to excel in academics, sports, and life skills, making Ekiti not just a participant but a frontrunner among the seven states competing in the AGILE Games. This is the real impact of visionary governance.
Representing the Governor at the event, the Director General of the Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs. Mary Oso-Omotosho, encouraged the students and celebrated their achievements as a direct result of sustained investment in youth potential. As the finals approach, Team Ekiti is not just competing—they are embodying the promise of leadership that believes in building greatness from the ground up.
