Governor Sanwo-Olu Applauds Lagos as a Global Destination for ‘Move Afrika’ Concert

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended Global Citizen for selecting Lagos as one of the host cities for the ‘Move Afrika’ concert, a prestigious music touring initiative designed to drive economic investment, create jobs, and support entrepreneurship opportunities across Africa.
Speaking at the concert, headlined by global music icon John Legend on Victoria Island, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed pride in Lagos’ role as a cultural and economic hub.
“Lagos, the heartbeat of Nigeria and Africa’s most vibrant city, is honored to host this groundbreaking event. ‘Move Afrika’ is more than just a concert—it is a movement and a call to action for global citizens to unite in addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges, from poverty and inequality to climate change and access to education. It aligns perfectly with our vision for Lagos,” he stated.
The ‘Move Afrika’ initiative, spearheaded by Global Citizen, aims to empower Africa’s youth through annual live music events, offering opportunities in creative industries while tackling global inequities.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed Lagos’ commitment to fostering cultural and economic partnerships, positioning the state as a leading destination for international entertainment and investment opportunities.
