Governor Sanwo-Olu Approves Apapa Central Business District to Deepen Commercial Growth and Urban Renewal

In a strategic move to boost economic vibrancy and improve infrastructure within Lagos’ key commercial zones, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the establishment of the Apapa Central Business District (CBD) office.
This was announced by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts, Hon. Bola Olumegbon-Lawal, during the ongoing ministerial press briefing marking the second anniversary of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s second term.
Olumegbon-Lawal highlighted that the new Apapa CBD office will enhance infrastructure maintenance, traffic management, environmental sanitation, and commercial order within the area. “This is part of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s broader vision to build business-friendly environments across Lagos,” she noted.
She also emphasized ongoing collaborations with agencies such as LAWMA and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, aimed at ensuring security, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance within all designated business districts, including Lagos Island and Ikeja.
The Special Adviser reiterated the administration’s zero-tolerance stance on street trading and illegal structures, stressing the importance of stakeholder engagement through regular meetings with transport unions and market leaders.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu is committed to transforming our business districts into well-managed, investor-attractive hubs. We call on all stakeholders to support this vision for a safer, cleaner, and more prosperous Lagos,” Olumegbon-Lawal added.
