Governor Sanwo-Olu Champions Infrastructure Development in Banana Island

In a landmark initiative to enhance the luxury landscape of Banana Island, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commissioned a series of state-of-the-art projects, pledging continued infrastructural improvements to support Lagos’ premier estate.
The projects, a collaboration between Banana Island Property Owners and Residents Association Lagos (BIPORAL) and Providus and First Bank, include an estate gate, administrative building, Banana Island Boat Club, advanced firefighting truck, two tennis courts, and two football fields. These facilities underscore the government’s support for an exclusive community that mirrors Lagos’ broader development goals.
Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the estate’s residents for their contributions to Lagos’ growth, pledging to address the access road and drainage challenges. He assured the community of a lasting solution that involves a new drainage channel to handle the estate’s water flow issues effectively.
The Governor’s efforts received praise from BIPORAL’s Chairman, Mr. Frank Aigbogun, who acknowledged the government’s partnership in realizing a safe, self-sustained, and luxurious environment. The newly elected Chairman, Ambassador Abidemi Oluwagbemiga Sonoiki, expressed his vision to further elevate Banana Island as a benchmark of quality living.
With prominent figures, including Providus Bank’s Executive Director Adeoye Oduroye and former Super Eagles Captain Austin Jay Jay Okocha, attending, the event exemplified a joint commitment to sustaining Banana Island’s status as a leading hub for luxury and innovation in Nigeria.
