Governor Sule Stays Focused on Governance Amid Calls for Senate Candidacy

Amid growing calls from the people of Nasarawa North Senatorial District for Governor Abdullahi Sule to contest for the Senate in 2027, the Governor has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his mandate rather than being distracted by early political campaigns.
Governor Sule made this known while hosting a delegation of traditional rulers and stakeholders from Akwanga Local Government Area, led by the Chun Mada, HRH Pastor Samson Gamu Yare, at the Government House.
In recent months, supporters and community leaders have been urging Governor Sule to run for the Senate, citing his transformational leadership, industrialization drive, and infrastructural development as reasons for their appeal.
However, Governor Sule has firmly declined the calls, emphasizing that his focus remains on ensuring the success of his administration’s projects and policies.
“I appreciate the love and support from my people, but at this moment, my priority is delivering on the promises I made to the people of Nasarawa State. We still have two years left, and I want these two years to be the most impactful in our administration,” he stated.
The Governor urged political supporters to prioritize governance over premature campaigns, stating that true leadership is measured by performance, not political ambitions.
“My administration has achieved a lot, but there is still much work to be done. We are focused on delivering landmark projects, implementing the 2025 budget, and ensuring the state’s progress. I do not want to be distracted,” Governor Sule added.
He highlighted the remarkable expansion of Nasarawa’s budget from N90 billion in 2019 to N384 billion in 2025, underscoring the state’s financial growth and improved governance efficiency.
The Chun Mada, HRH Pastor Samson Gamu Yare, commended Governor Sule for his visionary leadership, emphasizing that his achievements have elevated the profile of Nasarawa North.
Political observers believe that while Governor Sule’s decision to remain focused on governance reflects his leadership values, the overwhelming support from the people of Nasarawa North Senatorial District is a testament to his positive impact on the state.
With his industrialization efforts, infrastructural projects, and economic transformation agenda, Governor Sule remains a pillar of development in Nasarawa State, setting a legacy of excellence that resonates beyond his tenure.
