Governor Umaru Bago Swears In New Members Of Niger State Independent Electoral Commission

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has officially sworn in the new members of the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC), marking a crucial step toward the 2025 Local Government Elections in the state.
The swearing-in ceremony, presided over by Senior Magistrate Court Judge, Halima Yusuf, took place in Minna, where the newly appointed members took the oath of office and allegiance.
Addressing the new officials, Governor Bago commended them for their distinguished service and integrity, noting that their appointments were based on merit and experience.
“The success of our democratic process depends on the credibility of our electoral system. You have been carefully selected as elder statesmen known for your character and reputation. We trust you to carry out your duties diligently and transparently,” he said.
The NSIEC Chairman, Engr. Mohammed Jibrin Imam, expressed gratitude to Governor Bago for the appointment and assured the state government of free, fair, and credible local government elections.
The new Niger State Independent Electoral Commission members include:
• Engr. Mohammed Jibrin Imam – Chairman
• Barr. M.A. Liman – Permanent Commissioner I
• Nasiru Ubandiya – Permanent Commissioner II
• Yahaya Idris Abara – Permanent Commissioner III
• Capt. Mohammed Baro – Permanent Commissioner IV
• Kabiru Tanko Zama – Permanent Commissioner V
• Barr. Amina Guar – Permanent Commissioner VI
• Barr. Ahmed Borgu – Permanent Commissioner VII
With their inauguration, NSIEC is now fully empowered to commence preparations for the 2025 local government elections, ensuring a transparent electoral process in Niger State.
