Governor Uzodimma Empowers Grassroots Governance with Local Government Service Commission Board
In a strategic move to strengthen grassroots administration, Governor Hope Uzodimma has inaugurated the Imo State Local Government Service Commission Board, reaffirming his commitment to efficient service delivery at the local government level.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, the Governor underscored the critical role of local government administration in driving grassroots development. He urged the newly appointed board members to prioritize transparency, capacity building, and improved staff welfare across the state’s 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
The newly inaugurated board members are:
• Dr. Nick Obinatu – Chairman
• Chief Ethelbert Nwachukwu – Member (Owerri Zone)
• Chief Chukwuemeka Anukam – Member (Okigwe Zone)
• Hon. Engr. Stanley Chibueze Okwuosa – Member (Orlu Zone)
Governor Uzodimma charged the board to ensure that local governments function effectively as service hubs for the people, bridging the gap between the government and local communities. He emphasized that their work is crucial in implementing policies that directly impact residents, improve governance structures, and foster sustainable development across the state.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening institutions that drive grassroots transformation and expressed confidence that the board members would discharge their duties diligently.
