Governor Uzodimma: Nigeria’s Brightest Days Lie Ahead

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, asserting that the nation’s brightest days are yet to come. Speaking during an Independence Day Church Service at Maria Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri, Governor Uzodimma called on Nigerians to offer prayers for the country and its leaders. He urged citizens to focus on hope, unity, and faith, rather than lamenting over past shortcomings.
Reflecting on Nigeria’s 64 years of independence, the governor noted that despite various challenges, the country has made progress and continues to enjoy relative peace. He also recognized the support of religious institutions in fostering unity and encouraged leaders to remain committed to nation-building.
Archbishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji, represented by Very Rev. Fr. Gerald Njoku, echoed similar sentiments, acknowledging that Nigeria’s continued unity is a testament to God’s grace. The Archbishop commended Governor Uzodimma’s administration for its efforts in maintaining peace, addressing insecurity, and promoting infrastructural development.
The service was attended by key state officials, including Deputy Governor Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, Speaker Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe, and other dignitaries, underscoring the collective desire for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
