Governor Uzodimma Strengthens Higher Education with IMSU Board Inauguration

In a move to enhance governance and academic excellence at Imo State University (IMSU), Governor Hope Uzodimma has inaugurated a newly reconstituted Board for the institution. The swearing-in ceremony, held on Friday, January 31, 2024, underscores the Governor’s commitment to fostering transparency and efficiency in tertiary education.

Speaking at the event, Governor Uzodimma charged the board members to carry out their duties with diligence, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility. He reiterated that their role is critical in ensuring that IMSU maintains its reputation for academic excellence and institutional governance.

The newly appointed board members are:

• Prof. Fr. Philip Anyaehie Ogbonna – Chairman

• Mr. Leo Stan Eke – Member

• Rt. Hon. Chuma Nnaji – Member

• Hon. Godwin Esom Obodo – Member

• Pharm. Chuks Okoronkwo – Member

• Princess Nkechi Mbachu – Member

Governor Uzodimma expressed confidence that the board will bring innovative ideas to advance the university’s development and drive policies that will enhance the quality of education in the state.
