Imo First Lady Strengthens Healthcare Collaboration with Key Stakeholders

The First Lady of Imo State, Her Excellency Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, has reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening public health initiatives through strategic partnerships. Earlier today, she hosted key delegates from the Imo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ISPHCDA), the World Health Organization (WHO) Nigeria, UNICEF Nigeria, and Nestlé Nigeria PLC to discuss ongoing and upcoming health programs in the state.
During the meeting, discussions centered on measles vaccination, HPV vaccine continuation, tuberculosis awareness, and the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Week. The Executive Secretary of ISPHCDA, Rev. Sr. Dr. Maria Joanes Uzoma, expressed appreciation for the First Lady’s unwavering support, particularly in facilitating access to counterpart funding for crucial healthcare programs.
Director of Disease Control at ISPHCDA, Dr. Uchenna Odom, commended her efforts at the national level and highlighted concerns about measles outbreaks, seeking further support from the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum. Representing the WHO State Coordinator, Dr. Adeniyi Adeniran emphasized the need for a task force to improve operations and increase awareness about vaccination programs.
In her remarks, First Lady Chioma Uzodimma welcomed the delegates, acknowledged their efforts, and reaffirmed her office’s dedication to public health enhancement. The meeting underscored a shared vision of ensuring access to quality healthcare for all in Imo State.
